A few guests have found the live music occasionally too loud, which can make dialogue challenging, especially in a bustling crowd. Some patrons pointed out that certain busy times, particularly Sundays, lead to longer wait times for food and drinks, which may require a bit of patience. While the pub’s decorations received praise, some feel that certain areas could use a refresh to maintain the pub's cozy charm. Parking can be tricky during peak hours, especially on busy weekends, so planning ahead is advisable. A handful of reviews mentioned a desire for more diverse vegetarian options, as the menu primarily favors meat dishes.
Went for the Christmas party night, beautiful decorations, very festive!! Good choice of food, decent portion size, good service, reasonably priced drinks, fab entertainment. My only slight complaint was the entertainment was very, very loud, Will take ear plugs next time! Staff were lovely, friendly & attentive. We would go again. I'd like to go back for a Sunday roast and other things on the menu looked interesting as well! 5*****
Great Sunday roast really enjoyed out meal great atmosphere lovely experience and the very friendly staff. Nice garden I love how the restaurant have been decorated. live music on mothers day was great we enjoyed our afternoon here we will going back again.
Me and my fella had our wedding reception here. Dec and John could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The decorations were astonishing! Dec also prepared a buffet fit for the queens we are, all our guests were very well fed. Was truly a wonderful night.
My partner and I came here for a weekend away. We had a three course meal and we hired the accommodation at the back of the pub too. When they opened the door I was just blown away by how stunning it was, it's done to a very high standard, everything about this trip was just faultless. The food was delicious, the staff were outstanding, so attentive, smart and professional. The owners are fantastic and so welcoming, I would highly recommend this place.
I’ve lived locally my whole life and never have I ever visited this pub. What a regret for leaving it so long! I can honestly say, this is one of the nicest pubs I have ever been in. The food was delicious; I had the crab and crayfish salad - it was so good! They kindly made me a drink that isn’t on their usual menu but we’re happy to oblige, this also tasted amazing. We sat in the garden and it was just stunning, plants everywhere, the sun beaming down. It was just a really lovely and enjoyable afternoon. Our waiter was really nice. She kindly accommodated my fussy daughters lunch choice. Really good value for money. There were 4 us (3 with alcoholic drinks) 4 main meals, 1 side and 3 desserts, this came to just over £110 which in my opinion was an absolute bargain. Thank you for such a lovely afternoon!
This Restaurant has an amazing setting, the building is a 16th century building with very old features and tiny door ways, it gives this place an unbeatable charm and vibe. The garden is just stunning. I ordered the home made beef burger for my lunch, it was seasoned to perfection, with the nicest cheese I've ever had in a burger. The staff here are extremely warm and inviting. The food is surprisingly well priced, everything is homemade, which isn't found that often nowadays. This is a little gem of a find, its tucked away down the high street. It has this inconspicuous front, but when you get inside the beauty unfolds.
What a jewel this place is, the food was next level, service was great and the effort put into the rear garden was clear to be seen. Will call again in the future. Dog friendly too.
